Before photography, I spent years on stage. I played in rock bands and toured across Europe and Canada. That is still how I work a wedding. I am listening for tempo, for the beat before something happens, for the moment a room tips.

Away from weddings I surf badly and often, I am slowly putting a band back together, and I am a father in a blended family. It is probably why the family moments at a wedding are the ones I never miss.
As seen on:
I'M JEAN-PHILIPPE RABIER,
A FRENCH WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHER BASED IN BORDEAUX.
Since 2018 I have been photographing weddings across France and further afield, from a château in the Dordogne to a riad in Marrakech. I take on a limited number of them each year.
My work comes from watching rather than directing. I stay close, I stay quiet, and I let the day find its own shape. What I am after is the version of you that only shows up when nobody is performing.

I shoot on modern cameras, but also on older digital bodies and one roll of real film at every wedding. The grain, the softness, the small imperfections. They give an image a warmth that a perfect file never has. The roll is developed here in Bordeaux, and it almost always holds a few of my favourite frames of the day.

LET’S CREATE SOMETHING TIMELESS.
